Chanel clear poured glass (plique-a-jour) in molded and painted white metal. Double “C” initials impressed along the side of button. Pronged setting. “V” shaped soldered shank on top metal piece with glass.
Gabrielle Chanel was born in France in 1883. Known as “Coco”, Chanel led a colorful life as a single woman. She loved clothes and jewelry and launched her first perfume, Chanel No. 5, in the 1920s. There is an abundant supply of Chanel buttons on the market but be careful of “imposters”. Buy from a reliable source or purchase a piece of her vintage clothing if you can find them.
