This card of buttons was purchased in Tokyo sometime between 2014-2017.
Note the cup shape white metal button base for mounting the colorful acrylic round disks to make these buttons. Later, another button circa the 1940s will be featured on this Button Album for comparison, using the same “decorate the cup” construction method.
The button shop owner kindly let me have a piece of 2-layer acrylic sheet remnant, consisting of the opaque white layer, and the clear layer containing pure gold flakes, from which the discs were cut out. Unfortunately, those buttons were sold out.
