LW&G backmark identified.
Background/Story
Mother-of-pearl on sterling silver, imitation sew-through, with symbols border.
LW&G has been identified as Lawson Ward & Gammage with help of a reader who responded to our call for more information. See another LW&G button example in this Button Album. The company was founded in 1903 and by the 1930s was a big operation with dozens of employees and worldwide sales. The punch that marked this button is still being used today.
This button is likely bespoke, for its high quality, rather than part of a production run.
The left-facing sauwastika is an ancient religious icon, a symbol of divinity and spirituality in the cultures of Eurasia. (More on Wikipedia about Swastika).
