Back to Buttons
French Tight, Topless.
Description
This is a French Tight button, top removed, paper mache filler revealed with indentation marks. Does anyone know what design this was?

Background/Story
This unusual Paris back button came from a “too interesting to throw away” pill box container. Curiously, the top is made of paper, with very nice finished surface. Size 9/16″.
Yessy Byl has a similar button, which is a broken french tight. The button was likely too tightly pressed, or the amount of filling was too large, causing the top metal cover to crack at the rim when the top and the base parts were pressed together.
