Background/Story
This shell button is carved and decorated with dyed shell insets which stand proud above the flat surface of the button. Some of the insets are also carved. It is a 4 hole sew-through.
(On the back side of the button you can see a dark dot where the “hole” for the placement of one of the small insets was drilled through the button. If you look on the front of the button at approximately the 3:00 position you will see a small pink inset shell. That is where the button was drilled though on the back.)
