Background/Story

Signature on A is more typical for this studio:
陶薩
正摩
山
3 vertical characters on the left spell “Toshozan”.
2 on the right spell “satsuma”, with the second character enlarged for visual balance.

Signature on B:
陶サ
正ツ
山マ
Note the backmark on Button B—it bears the Toshozan signature, but the word Satsuma is spelled in katakana (サツマ) instead of the usual kanji (薩摩). In Japanese, the same word can be written in multiple scripts, each offering a different visual nuance. This variation highlights the artistic flexibility and expressive nature of hand-painted craftsmanship.
